After over a decade of having hormonal imbalances (mostly due to PCOS - polycystic ovarian syndrome) and taking the birth control pill to manage all this, I finally became aware of all the bad side effects of the pill. At the same time, I was terrified to stop taking the pill, worried that all my awful symptoms would return. I was also concerned because my husband and I were not, and are currently not, planning on conceiving. We were wary but hopeful about a Natural Family Planning System working for us.

We had no trouble conceiving our first child, so we were surprised when nothing had happened after a year and a half of trying for a second baby. We decided to get some help from a Creighton practitioner. Our Practitioner taught us how to chart and promptly referred us to a NaPro Medical Consultant. She sent for blood tests that mirrored the chart data. I was diagnosed with secondary infertility. After analyzing the data she prescribed some hormones to balance my body and we conceived on our first month of treatment. The pregnancy was tracked for several months to prevent miscarriage. We will be welcoming a new baby any day now. From the start of working with our Practitioner until the baby's conception was 5 months. Like 1 in 6 couples today, my husband and I struggled with infertility in the early years of our marriage. Thankfully, we were made aware of the Creighton Model FertilityCare System and were successfully treated through NaProTechnology. While the media and most people are only aware of such mainstream artificial reproductive treatments like InVitro Fertilization, there is another option that I wish to share with you that is 2-3 times more effective than IVF, less expensive, less invasive, and doesn’t result in frozen embryos or multiple births.
In 2010, my husband and I began our journey to parenthood by learning the Creighton Model FertilityCare System from a certified nurse practitioner who was trained in this unique system. After six months of charting, my husband and I were referred to a NaProTechnology physician who practiced family medicine in Alberta. She coordinated all of our infertility treatments around my unique menstrual cycle, diagnosed the underlying issues responsible for my infertility, and restored my health and fertility.
After seven months of following her treatment plan, we successfully conceived and I gave birth to healthy little boy in December 2011. When our son was twelve months old, we conceived our second son in our very first cycle using the NaPro treatment plan. Then, in early 2014, we learned that a third child was on the way! We weren't sure if we would be able to have kids as I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis following a laparoscopy and we had been trying for a few years to have children. We tried fertility pills and acupuncture to no avail, and we pretty much surrendered our will to God and accepted the fact that it might just be the two of us when a friend suggested we try the Creighton method. We looked into it and attended an information session and knew right away that it was worth trying. Plus, the fees are inexpensive compared to other fertility treatments.
Our Creighton instructor was very thorough and clear and we were able to determine times of fertility and infertility. After a few cycles and based on my charts & Creighton protocol, she suggested I try taking vitamin b6 to increase my cervical mucus and also referred me to a Napro practitioner for further assistance. To our surprise and delight, that cycle, I conceived! With the help of our Napro practitioner, I was able to carry the baby to full term and a few weeks ago, about one year since we started learning the Creighton method, I delivered a healthy baby boy!
